Burton Fleming History Group

The History Group hold a series of talks throughout the winter months, September to April.  We endeavour to keep these talks, where possible, to the local history of the East Riding with guest speakers presenting.

To attend these meetings there is no membership required, we are ‘open house’ in the hope that we can encourage, not only people from the village, but also people from the wider community to attend.

We also try to blend these meetings into a good social evening having time for refreshments and conversation afterwards.  Again, to expand on the social element, we have an annual dinner and an end of season visit to somewhere of historical interest.

Over the years the Group has acquired an amount of archive material relating to the village. Our next move must be to protect and store these items so that they can be viewed for future reference or displayed at local events.

The talks are held in Burton Fleming Village Hall (YO25 3PE) and where possible, on the next to last Thursday of each month starting at 7.30 pm.    Everyone is welcome.
